Located at the Southern corner of the Corbett National Park approximately 16 kilometers from Ramnagar, Jhirna is prominent for easy wildlife spotting. The zone was once a village, which was later translocated to some other place and now become a dense forest. Over a safari to the Jhirna Park, tourists can see nilgai, cheetal, sambhar in their natural habitat. The zone also has a good population of sloth bear and wild elephants. Also by booking a stay at Forest Rest House FRH Jhirna, one can see tigers, who keep on visiting here in the night. Though the park remains open for tourists throughout the year but one should avoid during the monsoon season as the gates remain closed most of the time due to heavy downpour.
